We all enjoy the wonderful summer weather in the Cape Peninsula. This summer has been particularly dry and hot – wonderful for the beach. It does however necessitate that hiking Table Mountain must be done early in the morning. All our hikes start no later than 6.00a.m. and sometimes earlier. This some people may find quite an effort but its definitely worth it and they all agree! Table Mountain has a lot of exposed rock that radiates heat, meaning it feels hotter. You may think 26C isn’t that hot but when you are hiking Platteklip Gorge it can feel like an oven if you are still in the gorge after 9.00a.m. So please take our advice regarding start times whether you choose to go unguided or with us. In this case we do know Table Mountain and what’s best and safest for you.
