Summer approaches and temperatures are rising so it is necessary for early starts especially if you wish to hike to the top of Table Mountain. October and November are unpredictable months when it comes to the weather and temperatures. This means it is best to be prepared for all eventualities, when planning for Summer hiking on Table Mountain.

Routes like Platteklip Gorge and Kasteelspoort offer shade early in the morning giving you a great start to the hike. The water that runs on Table Mountain is not potable so it can be good for cooling off but not for drinking. For shorter hikes take 1 and 1/2 liters of water per person and for longer hikes 2 liters or more.

As the fynbos (indigenous vegetation) is drought resistant, lack of rain does not effect it as it is well adapted. Many plants are Summer flowering like the red Crassula, pink Watsonia and blue Agapanthus. There is plenty of colour for us to see in the summer months. Many delicate orchids also flower in summer, blue, red and yellow.

Be prepared for plenty to see, not just the views! We will pick you up early but it will be worth it. We appreciate any feedback and we appreciate your booking. We promise to do our best to make your Summer hiking on Table Mountain a very memorable experience.
