There can be no doubt that the month of March this year has been the wettest on record. Usually a dry, warm to hot month with temperatures in the high twenties, this March was cool and wet. This has certainly made for good hiking conditions on Table Mountain, although at times the rain has been heavy and the mountain shrouded in cloud, the coolness has meant the need for an early start was not imperative.
The streams on Table Mountain that would normally be dry are running, water drips down the moss covered rock faces and the dams on top are nearing capacity. What a difference from the usual dry and parched conditions we are used to. Table Mountain as always has lots of surprises in store for us, so if you want to be fully entertained – take a hike!
