Back from break in Sri Lanka

I have just returned from 2 weeks in Sri Lanka, mostly a hiking/walking trip along with some culture and beach time. The hike up Adams Peak was the highlight, However if your looking for a peaceful 6 hours on a remote mountain this would not be it! The hike is a pilgrimage for the local population and is busy with thousands all year round. The route consists of 5 thousands steps up and down. The views make it all worthwhile and the sunrise just after 6.00a.m. was second to none – of course you need to be lucky.

Sr Lanka is an interesting destination with a lot of variety and I definitely recommend spending most time in the highlands. Not only is it cooler but it offers the landscapes and scenery one is looking for.

Pietro as always along with Steph, Lynette, Frank and Ray led walks while I was away. Its always good to get home especially to Cape Town and Table Mountain which is still the most scenic place on the planet!
